Family House, Würenlos, Switzerland
This modern single-family residence in Würenlos, Switzerland, is designed around sustainability, contemporary living and a strong connection with its natural surroundings. Extending across three levels, the house combines generous family spaces with privacy, functionality and panoramic views of the surrounding forest landscape.
Exterior & Materiality
The façade combines smooth plaster with refined aluminium elements, creating a balanced composition of warmth and contemporary elegance. Large floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding glass doors dissolve the boundary between interior and exterior while maximising daylight and energy efficiency.
Clean architectural lines, cantilevered volumes and the interplay between open and enclosed spaces give the building its distinctive character.
Outdoor Living
Generous terraces extend the interior living spaces into the landscape, providing areas for relaxation, dining and entertaining. Carefully positioned openings frame views of the forest and enhance the sense of tranquillity and connection with nature.
Sustainability
The residence incorporates a sustainable energy concept focused on energy efficiency, responsible material selection and long-term performance. The architectural design, building envelope and extensive use of natural light contribute to a comfortable and environmentally conscious home.
Conclusion
This contemporary family house combines minimalist architecture with warmth, comfort and functionality. Smooth surfaces, elegant aluminium detailing and expansive glazing create a refined residential environment in which architecture, landscape and sustainable living are seamlessly integrated.
