Located in the heart of Athens, the new headquarters of the Hellenic Institute for the Study of Sepsis represents a transformative renovation of an existing office building into a contemporary research and administrative hub. The project reimagines the structure as a space of collaboration, transparency, and innovation — qualities that mirror the institute’s mission in advancing medical research and public health.

The architectural and interior design study by Lib Concept focuses on redefining spatial clarity and human experience. Natural light, transparency, and material authenticity shape a calm and focused working environment that supports both scientific inquiry and everyday interaction. Clean lines, warm neutral tones, and precise detailing create an atmosphere of understated sophistication, balancing functionality with a sense of serenity.

Sustainable strategies guided every design decision, including energy-efficient systems, biophilic design elements, and the thoughtful reuse of existing structural components.
